Rob says: This coffee is the result of Head Roaster Jeff’s endless cuppings at the Tropiq labs in Addis Abebe Ethiopia, and seen the large volume of it, the most important coffee of the year for our company.
For long Adado was my favorite micro region within Yirgacheffe and known for classic coffees as Ch’elelek’tu, Konga and Kochere. It’s also the name of the cooperative producing these beans.
The climate in Adado sounds ideal for coffee cultivation, with moderate conditions and the advantage of two major crop seasons: meher and belg. The meher season, which occurs between June and October, brings colder temperatures and more frequent rains, while the belg season happens between February and June. For all Belgians the name “belg” might indeed sound funny.
