Rob Says: Ready for the best 'value for money' Kenyan coffee in the history of Caffenation?
The history of KAGAA is simply straight forward though. These lots of grade C and Peaberry are named after the village in Muranga where the coffee is being produced.
We bought a big C lot to use in our Mister LGB summer blend. This one is lower in acidity and great for espresso, while the PB is punchier, sweeter and mainly filter-coffee driven.
Most of the coffee grown in the Kagaa area is of the SL28 and SL34 varietals. Both cultivars have Bourbon and Moka heritage and are named after the laboratory that promoted their wider distribution in Kenya during the early 20th century – Scott Laboratories, now the National Agricultural Laboratories of Kenya.
