Rob says: Of course this YELLOW CATURRA is a derivate of the regular (Red) Caturra, which is on itself a descendant of the Bourbon Variety. The characteristic stays true to its name: it will become yellow once it’s fully ripe. Although the seed itself is rather small in size, the texture is hard. Yellow Caturra also has a strong smell with a hint of fruity or floral sweetness, but the acidity is not over powering.

Ah, what an intriguing narrative behind this latest impressive batch sourced by Cultivar from Peru. The backstory of Dreyde and Lisanne, the diligent coffee sourcers for Cultivar, tasting an exceptional coffee from the grower Susi in 2020. After a few years they successfully reconnected with Susi, collaborating with Jose, nicknamed “EL ZORRO,” to acquire this exceptional lot.
