In the highlands of Cajamarca, sisters Ismeria and MERLY LEON passionately cultivate coffee on their own farms, located in the same village but at different altitudes and with different varieties, which is reflected in their coffee. In 2025 we offered both specialty organic lots, from which the higher altitude was the most loved one. And that’s why it’s on repeat for this Winter.
Her 2.5-hectare farm, El Churaz, benefits from abundant sunshine and cool nighttime temperatures—perfect for specialty coffee production. With support from her cooperative, Aroma del Valle, she has successfully produced micro-lots that are gaining international recognition
