Rob says: We wrap up the season with a couple of standout Peaberry lots. Because these small, round beans hold on to their flavors longer than their AA and AB counterparts, they stay vibrant and delicious for an extended period.
This coffee takes its name from the washing station where it is processed: KARIRU Station. Around 980 smallholder farmers deliver their cherries to this station, which is one of 12 factories belonging to the Baragwi Farmers Co-operative Society. The station sits near the Mount Kenya Forest Reserve, an important water catchment area for the local community.
This late-harvest coffee was grown at 1,800 meters above sea level in red volcanic soils rich in organic matter, contributing to its depth and complexity of flavor.
